The staff of the Lockhart Post-Register is pleased to announce the beginning of the fourth annual Best of Caldwell County Readers’ Choice Awards. Changes and updates have been made to the ballots this year to provide an even more comprehensive look at “the Best of Caldwell County.”

“We think it is important to tailor the ballots to the businesses in our area,

” said Post-Register publisher Dana Garrett. “As the area grows and new businesses join our community, we want to make sure their customers have the chance to recognize them for providing exceptional products and services.”

Additions to this year’s ballot include Best DJ, Best Bakery and Best Sausage.
“The more our population grows, the more people wonder what kinds of services are out there, and which company or store has the best products, selection or service,” Garrett said. “Because we are not only the local newspaper, but because our staff and ownership is almost exclusively local, we often get the calls asking for those referrals,” he said. “But like most locals, even we don’t always agree on – for instance – who serves the best barbecue. But we are able to tell people about “the Best of Caldwell County,” and let them know what a majority of our readers think.”

Voting for the fourth annual “Best of Caldwell County Readers’ Choice Awards” begins this week, and will continue through March 13, 2009. Ballots will be tallied and the winners announced in a special edition of the Lockhart Post-Register scheduled for publication on April 30, 2009.

See Page 12B of this week’s Post-Register for ballot and voting instructions, or visit the office of the Lockhart Post-Register at 111 S. Church St. in Lockhart.
