8th grade Lady Lions fall to San Marcos

The Lady Lion 8th grade “A” basketball team fought hard against San Marcos Miller, but fell short of the victory, 15-30, on Thursday, Nov. 17.
Scoring for the Lady Lions was Jordyn Platt with two points, Bianca Juarez with two points, Kariah Selby with five points, and Jesi Greer with six points.

The Lady Lions 8th grade “B” team had a victorious start to their season against San Marcos Miller, 27-12, on Thursday evening, Nov. 17.
Scoring points were Cortney Ferris with two points, Kelsey Daily with four points, Andrea McKinney with six points, Alisha Officer with six points, and Desiree” Roland with eight points.
Roland, Ferris and McKinney made good rebounds. Hustling to every loose ball was Jocelyn Coleman, Brittney Joseph, Officer and Daily.
“I am very proud of how these girls came out and were ready to dominate so early in the season,” said Coach Karli Kutach. “I have high expectations for this season!”
The Lady Lions 7th grade “B” basketball team opened their season with an exciting win over San Marcos Miller, 22-14, on Thursday, Nov. 17. The Lady Lions played excellent offense and aggressive defense to secure the win.
High point scorers were Amanda Capello and Danielle Reynolds with six points each. Alysia Peralez added four, while Shelby Miranda, Elora Chestnut, and Cassie Arredondo chipped in two each to help the lady Lions.
Alissa Casteel, Karen West, and Heather Schalin hustled on defense to force turnovers, which turned into points for Lockhart. Candice Garza, Miranda, and Capello brought down the boards with several rebounds. ” I was very impressed the girls played so well their first game,” said Coach Alisha Homann. “They were focused and hustled every minute of the game.”
