Ada Mae Herms passed away Aug. 25, 2006 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Lockhart, Texas on May 5, 1946 to Sherman and Dora (Barber) Bennett. She attended Lockhart schools.
Mrs. Herms married the love of her life, Albert E. Herms on Aug. 11, 1962. She was a devoted homemaker, wife, and mother.
She is survived by her husband, A

lbert E. Herms, of Luling; sons, Ernest Herms of Luling, Clint and wife Tiffany Herms of Kyle, Rodney N. and wife Tammy Herms, of Elgin; her grandchildren Neal and Brittany Herms of Elgin; one brother, Willard and wife Bonnie Bennett of Lockhart; sisters-in-law Helen Mathews of Keithville, La., and Rosie Lundy of Santa Fe, Texas; brother-in-law Walter Herms of Luling; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant daughter, Glenda Kay Herms; brothers Edgar Bennett, Ross Bennett, E. B. Bennett and Royce Glen Bennett; sister-in-law Betty (Herms) Bennett; and brother-in-law Drew Mathews.
A visitation was held on Sunday, Aug. 27, 2006 at the Eeds Funeral Chapel in Lockhart, Texas.
Mrs. Herm”s funeral services were held Monday, Aug. 28, 2006 at 11 a.m. at the Eeds Funeral Home Chapel with David Pafford officiating. Burial followed immediately at the Bunton Cemetery in Dale, Texas. Pallbearers were David Bennett, Eric Bennett, Clyde Schuman, Mitchell Short, Bill Bradford and Justin Weber.
Honorary pallbearers were James Bennett, Neal Herms, and Curtis Weber.
In lieu of flowers the family requested donations and contributions sent in Ada”s honor to the Austin Hospice of Austin, Texas or the American Cancer Society.
All arrangements were with Eeds Funeral Home, 408 S. Main, Lockhart, Texas (512) 398-2343
