Alfred Seitz
Alfred Gilbert Seitz, also known as “Curly,” “Al” or “the Gas Man,” passed away on Feb. 4, 2015, at the age of 78.
He was born in Yoakum, Texas, in 1937, to Alfred Joe and Agusta Theile Seitz. He was one of three boys: Daniel, Marvin and Alfred. His parents and his brothers preceded him in death.
Al went to work at ArkLa Gas Co. in 1963. He was a volunteer fir
efighter in Lockhart for 21 years, and retired from the gas company in 2011.
Al is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nelda Seitz; daughters, Kim Martinez-Richard, Donna, and Dana Seitz; sons, Ralph “Danny” Rhemann, Mark Rehmann and Marshall Rehmann; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
They loved their grandparents, and their Papa loved each one of them. He will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held from 5 – 9 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6, 2015. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, at McCurdy Funeral Home in Lockhart.
To my firefighter brother Curly, you will be missed. We had alot of good times. Rest in peace brother. Nelda, I’m so sorry for your loss and pray for peace for you and your family.
You will be missed Curly, You were an awesome man I remember the first time I meant when you worked for the gas company. Then working with you side by side at many fires together. I will Miss you.

You have always lite up my life like nobody else…I know you are still with me always, I can feel it. I will cherish all of our memories together and will hold them deep in my heart forever. You are definitely one of a kind Papa and you can never be replaced. I have always been so proud to be your Granddaughter.
