Allene Meadows, a lifetime resident of Caldwell County, passed away on Aug. 8, 2005 at the Luling Hospital.
She was born Sept. 18, 1906 in Joliet, Texas to Arthur and Cora Meadows and her ancestors include numerous early settlers of Caldwell County and the surrounding areas She was preceded in death by her mother and father; brothers H.E. “Buster” Meadows and Doyle Mea

dows; sister-in-law Virginia Meadows and nephews Wayne and David Meadows.
She was a long-time member of the Mineral Springs Baptist Church in Joliet and worked for over 30 years for the First National Bank in Luling, retiring at age 70. She enjoyed her many years of fellowship with friends and many relatives that lived in the area.
Allene was a very proud, independent lady, and she was especially proud of the farm that has been in her family for over 100 years and her cattle business. She continued to maintain the farm, driving her truck to tend to her livestock, from the time she retired from banking up until the last several years when her health began to fail.
She is survived by her nephew Don Meadows and his wife Brenda; nieces Joan Bostic and husband Eddie, Rebecca Lenamond and husband Billy, and McCleta Clark; and nieces-by-marriage Naomi Meadows and Sue Medows Brushaber.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 13 at the O”Bannon Funeral Home in Luling. Burial will follow at Mineral Springs Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Doyle, Sandy Dozier, Todd Bostic, Adam Meadows, David Meadows and Alan Clark.
