Marie Annette Metz, of Lockhart, passed away May 8, 2013 at the age of 85. She was born in Little Rock, Ark.
Ann was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years Don; her parents, William Lee and Mary Christina Ellis; two brothers, Bill Ellis and Bob Ellis; and sister-in-law, Lee Duque Ellis.

Ann’s legacy is shown in the love and lessons left to her children and gr

andchildren.

She leaves sons, Don and wife, Kim, of Cedar Park, Ron and wife, Sandy, of Lockhart, and Rick and wife, Rhonda, of Smithville, and daughter, Mary Metz, of Lockhart.
Granna will be missed by grandchildren Amy and Chip Pittman, Lucy Metz, Andy and Velma Metz, Ryan and Holli Metz, Amanda Metz, Thomas Metz, and Daniel and Tracy Reynolds; and great-grandchildren Dusty, Michael, Brooks and Emily Pittman, Katey DeLeon, Caed and Kira Metz, Rhylan Metz and Zachariah Reynolds.

Ann is also survived by her brother-in-law, Norman Metz and wife, Avis, and sisters-in-law, Bonnie Cleveland, Shirley Lypps and husband, Jack, and Darlene Ellis, of Missouri, as well as several loved nieces and nephews.

Ann was an active member of the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, serving in many capacities. She used her talents of cooking and sewing to serve her church, family and friends. Many birthday and wedding cakes in town were baked and decorated in her kitchen. She was an active member of the Red Hats, the Irving Club, and two bridge clubs where she spent many hours with her wonderful friends. She often shared special memories of trips taken with friends. However, Ann’s greatest love in life was her family. She encouraged her family through the constant support she gave them. She always looked forward to visits from children and grandchildren.

Visitation was held at McCurdy Funeral Home on Friday, May 10, 2013, at 6 p.m. The funeral services were held Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 1 p.m. at McCurdy Funeral Home, with Father Tom Bruns presiding. Burial followed at Lockhart City Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 117 N. Church St., Lockhart, Texas.
