Mr. Anselmo G. Vasquez, born on April 21, 1928, to the late Fernando and Julia Vasquez, was called to Heaven on Friday, Dec. 30, 2011.

He is survived by his children: Tomas Vasquez and Deborah, of Pittsburgh, Penn., and Anselmo “Jack” Vasquez, Jr. and Rosie, Yvonne Baltierra and Jesse, Gloria Vasquez and Chris Cruz, Jr., and Yolanda Vasquez, all of Lockhart; grandchildren: A

drienne (Robert) Ramirez, and Andrea Vasquez, of Pittsburgh, and Duke and Salvador (Jennifer) Vasquez, Geddy-Lee and Jay Alan Baltierra, Thomas Anthony Vasquez and Karen Renee Espinoza, all of Lockhart; great-grandchildren: Shelby Lynn Vasquez, Lee-Anthony Baltierra and Ava Lynn Vasquez; siblings, Catarino Vasquez, of Houston, Francisco Vasquez, Julia Mendez and Herminia Perez, all of Lockhart, Juan Vasquez, of Austin, and Eusebia Balderas, of Dimmitt, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Minnie V. Vasquez; and siblings, Dionicia Rayos, Lupe Ortiz and Manuela Nino.

Recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 2, at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Funeral mass was celebrated at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 3, also at St. Mary”s Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Mary”s Cemetery. Honored to serve as pallbearers were: Thomas Anthony Vasquez, Karen Renee Espinoza, Geddy-Lee Baltierra, Jay Alan Baltierra, Duke Vasquez, Salvador Vasquez, Adrienne Ramirez and Andrea Velasquez.
