Argie Lee Freeman was born Jan. 24, 1925, in Lockhart, Texas, to Cloud and Hazel Lee Freeman.

Argie accepted Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Church. She married  Vassie Johnson and moved to Los Angeles, Calif., in 1969.

Mother Johnson worked as a nurse while sharing God”s love with others in her care. Mother Johnson later joined First Goodwill Baptist Church of

Los Angeles, where she met and married Robert Linton. Mother Linton and her husband relocated to Lockhart, Texas, and reunited with The First Baptist Church, where she served until her return to Los Angeles in 1984.

Mother Linton leaves to cherish her loving memory one daughter, Eva (John) Coleman Springs, of Anaheim, Calif., and one son, Rev. Michael Anthony Albert; four grandchildren; one sister, Bessie Wright, of San Antonio; two brothers, Jessie (Emma Jean) Freeman, of Houston, Texas, and Felton (Ermae) Freeman, of Lockhart; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at First Baptist Church with Reverend H. Fritz Williams officiating and the eulogy was delivered Reverend Buckner.

Serving as pallbearers were Troy Wright, Hisoni Edwards, Sterling Lee and Erin Baltimore.

Burial was at Hooks Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas.
