Betty Jean Haun, 85, of Lockhart, Texas passed away peacefully at her home on July 2, 2007 after a lengthy illness.
All who knew Betty Jean were blessed with her strength, graciousness and entertaining quick wit. She was an inspiration and role model to us all.
Betty was born to Bruno and Bettie (Clark) Fehr in Lockhart on Aug. 26, 1921.
She was a long tim

e member of the First Lockhart Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.
She married her high school sweetheart, James H. “Toppy” Haun on June 4, 1941 and shared 66 happy years together.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, William “Bill” Fehr and Ted Fehr.
She is survived by her husband, Toppy; son James A. “Jim” Haun and wife, Debbie of Lockhart; daughter Betty Jo Pierce and husband, Archie Carl of Austin; and three grandchildren, James T. “Bubba” Haun, Holly Gail Haun and Sara Elizabeth Pierce Porterfield. She is also survived by her loving nieces and nephews, Lynn Hayes, Donaly Brice, Kearby Fehr, Scott Fehr, Kent Fehr and Clark Fehr.
Family received friends Thursday, July 5, 2007 at McCurdy Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Friday, July 6, 2007 at McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Reverend Robert Hahn officiating. Pallbearers were George (Bubba) Chapman, Bon Chesser, Bill Chesser, Sam Perez, Jack Powell, Joe Rector, Eddie Vogel and Weston Voigt. Interment followed at Lockhart City Cemetery, Lockhart, Texas.
