Cecil Winston Gould was born on Dec. 14, 1929, in the farming community of Davilla, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joel Jackson Gould and Mary Lucinda Cargill, brothers Elbert, Raymond, Dalton, J.E. and sister Blanche.

He met Rachel Lenora Clopton and married her in Davilla on Oct. 18, 1949. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. His two sons La

rry and Rick were born during this time.

After the war, he returned to Austin and worked various jobs before beginning a long career as a laminate counter top installer.

Cecil moved his family to a farm he built outside of Manor, where both sons attended school. After retirement, he moved to Lockhart to be closer to his grandchildren.

Cecil was a gentle, honest man with a strict work ethic. He worked when he should and fished when he could. Cecil instilled his faith in the Lord and his work ethic in his sons. He will be greatly missed and always remembered.

Cecil is survived by his wife of 64 years, Lenora; sons, Larry and wife, Jennifer, and Rick and wife, Gayle; brother, Don Gould and wife, Helen; grandson, Joel and wife, Regina; granddaughter, Danielle; and great-grandchildren Paige, Joel Jr. and Ella.

The family received callers from 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 22, 2014, at Cook-Walden Funeral Home, 6100 N. Lamar Blvd., in Austin.

A graveside service was at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014 at Sanders Cemetery, Lee County, Texas, under the direction of Cook Walden Funeral Home.
