Celia Garcia

Celia “Sally” Garcia passed away on Jan. 8, 2010, in Austin, Texas. She was born in Lockhart on April 21, 1965, to Anita and Juan Garcia.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Alfred and Manuel Garcia.

Sally is survived by her only son, Joel Novick Garcia; sisters, Janie Garcia, Lydia Martinez and Margie Garcia; and many nieces, nephews

and numerous friends she made along the way.

“Tia Buck,” as she was lovingly called by her family, worked at PPD in Austin, where she was loved by all she came in contact with. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making people smile.

The family planned to receive friends from 3 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2010, at DeLeon’s Funeral Home, with rosary prayer at 7 p.m. Funeral services were planned at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Lockhart, with interment following at San Pablo Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were Albert Garcia, Joe Castillo, Augie Martinez, Alfred Garcia, Jr., Manuel Garcia, Jr., and Sergio Padilla. Honorary pallbearer is her son, Joel Novick Garcia.
