Charlie “Tooter” Miles, Jr., 61, of Yoakum, Texas, went to be with the Lord on June 16, 2012, in Bryan, Texas. He was born in Austin to Lela Ward and Charles Calvin Miles, Sr. Charlie was a member of the local Chamber of Commerce.

He was supportive of the local Special Olympics, County Fair and FFA Projects. Charlie sponsored Little League Teams and contributed to the Womens

” and Children’s shelters during the Christmas holidays. Just about every weekend during racing season, he could be found at one of the (ASCS) American Sprint Car Series Tracks.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Jo Miles; mother, Lela Miles; two sons, Chad and his children, Jacob and Zoey Miles, of Lockhart, and Jesse Adami, Jr., and wife, Elizabeth, and their children, James, Shae, Sam, Mike, Roel and Noel; seven daughters: Kim Miles, of Lockhart, Kasi Miles and husband, Emilio Gonzales, and their children, Jordan and Colby, of Lockhart, Tessie Zarbock and husband, Gilbert Martinez, and their children, Zachary and Gavin, of Austin, Audrey Adami and her children, Gabriel and his daughter Harper Livia, Joshua, and Jacob, of New Braunfuels, Jackie and husband, Roger Canales, and their children, Roger, Dorian and Adrianm Rebecca and husband, Benny Alaniz, and their children, Danielle and Jessica, and Ashley Adami, all of Freer; one brother, Ron Miles and wife, Judy, of Baytown; three sisters, Routh Stanley, of Lockhart, Peggy Stilp and husband, Tony, of Del Valle; and Kelley Kohler and husband, Kevin of Lockhart.

Family received friends at McCurdy Funeral Home, from 6 – 8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19, 2012. Funeral service was planned at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, at Trinity Baptist Church in Lockhart, with Pastor Rodney Box and Brother Leroy Pennington officiating, with interment to follow at Lockhart City Cemetery.

    We will always love and deeply miss you Charlie. What a wonderful step-father you were to us. We will cherish the times we had with you… especially Thanksgiving. Not goodbye… but See Ya later!
