A carpenter by trade, he could frame, roof and build a house from the ground up, and always wanted to lend a hand to a friend or loved one. Chris initiated many projects to keep busy. Chris loved to “rock” while working on cars and around the house. He will always be remembered fondly for his sense of humor, infectious smile and helpful spirit.
Chris is survived by his fiancée, Marie Brown and her family; his parents; siblings, Sonia (Greg) Hohnadel, Maria (Dean) Jetty, Gilbert Mayo, Jr., Tim Mayo, Sandra K. Mayo, Gabriel (Audra) Mayo, and Samuel (Cody) Mayo; 21 nieces and nephews; two great-nephews; paternal grandmother Manuela Pastrano Mayo; and many, many uncles, aunts and cousins.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007 in Lockhart. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that donations be made in Chris” memory to Christopher Hospice House or the American Cancer Society.
Services under the direction of the DeLeon Funeral Home, 110 Cedar St., Lockhart, Texas (512) 376-6200.
