Cinco de Mayo Celebration

The Lockhart Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the City of Lockhart are hosting their annual Cinco De Mayo celebration on the square this weekend, May 6-7.
On Friday, Fiesta de Mariachi will be performing at Dr. Eugene Clark Library with Jesse Cruz and Jammin Xpress starting at 6 p.m on the square.
There will be booths set up for games as well as selling art, craf

ts, and food.
The band, Tokante, will liven up downtown starting at 8 p.m. until 12 a.m.
Early Saturday morning, the Cinco De Mayo celebration will host its first Menudo Cook-off at the Lockhart City Park Pavilion at 8 a.m.
The Student Walk of Art will begin at 10 a.m. at the square followed by Tejano Sounds by Ricardo Zuniga.
The Chris Snell Band will follow Zuniga”s performance at 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
The final judging of the Menudo Cook-off will be revealed at 1:30 p.m. followed by Pocket Change until 3 p.m.
St. Edwards University Ballet Folkorico and Mariachi will perform at 3:30-5 p.m. Their presentation will be followed by the Ruiz Dance Studio Ballet Folkorico Group at 5:30 p.m.
At the Courthouse, awards will be handed out for the Menudo Cook-off at 5 p.m.
The coronation of Little Mr. And Miss Cinco De Mayo will begin at 6:30 p.m. The candidates for Miss. Cinco De Mayo are Jayme Rae Hinojosa, Biviana Zapata and Serenity Villalobos. The candidates for Mr. Cinco De Mayo are Nicholas Castilleja and Issac Peralez.
Ending the celebration, Yayo and Arturo Castillo y Rumores will be performing at 8 p.m. on the square.
