If you’re a parent with school-age children, you’re likely interested in how your kids are being graded.
The Lockhart Independent School District is inviting all parents and community members to attend a forum at 5 p.m. Thursday at Lockhart High School to learn more about what a committee of district educators and parents are doing to review current grading practices.
The committee is also making recommendations for improvements to better communicate what each student is learning and how they are performing, LISD Superintendent Susan Bohn said.
“It’s necessary to put some guidelines in place for teacher grading to get consistency across the district,” Bohn said. “Teachers have a fair amount of autonomy in how they grade students.”
Those in attendance will be invited to share their feedback. For more information, contact Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Mark Estrada at Mark.Estrada@lockhart.txed.net.
