A Mustang Ridge man remains in intensive care this week after being stabbed at his home in rural Caldwell County.

According to the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office, Terry Lee Turngren, 43, suffered stab wounds to his back, chest and arm when a domestic argument turned violent on Wednesday.

CCSO Public Informat

ion Officer Sgt. Paul Cowan said in a written release on Tuesday that Turngren was arguing with his wife, Jasmine Shantel Turngren, 20, inside their home when she picked up a kitchen knife, and then tried to take a telephone from his pocket. The victim was stabbed repeatedly while trying to fend off her efforts to take the phone. T. Turngren was holding the couple’s 15-month-old child at the time of the attack.

Injured, Turngren put the child down and walked to a neighbor’s home for help. He was transported to an Austin hospital, where he remains sedated and in the Intensive Care Unit. Detectives have been unable to interview him because of his condition, and an additional investigation is pending.

J. Tungren was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon – Family Violence and Endangering a Child – Criminal Negligence. She was transported to the Caldwell County Jail, and her bond was set at $50,000.
