David Kenneth Johnson, age 59, of Lockhart, passed away on Friday, March 10, 2006, in West, Texas. He was born on Feb. 17, 1947 in Minneapolis, Minn., where he lived his childhood.
Dave believed in living life to its fullest. He was a loving father, son and brother. For Dave, joy in life was most often found in being of service to others. He shared his gifts. These r

anged from technical savvy in computer networks and PC repairs to craftsmanship in woodworking. He was much loved by friends and colleagues, which included his career ending with 10 years of service with the Teachers Retirement System and previously 24 years at Control Data Corporation.
He devoted countless hours to volunteer efforts with the Austin Area Optimists, Kiwanis, programs at St. David”s and the Suburban Foundation. His strong spiritual life delivered a message of experience, strength and hope to many people.
His faith, hope, humor, humility and goodwill toward others was never more strongly expressed than it was in the way he walked through this past year of his life under the burden of serious illness. He was an inspiration. Dave trudged a happy road. We will miss him.
