Dennis Ray Head, 60, died March 1, 2016 at Brackenridge Hospital in Austin, Texas.

Dennis Ray Head was born on Nov. 27, 1955, to Evelyn Lucille Thompson – Head and Edward Head who preceded him in death, along with one sister, Anna Marie Head.

He is survived by two children, Evelyn Diane Jackson and Jordan Keyshawn Batson; and one grandchild, Jonathan Donte` Jackson. He

is also survived by seven brothers: Glenn Head, Bruce Head, Jessie Ray Head, William Head, Bobby Joe Head, Reuben Otis Head (Elaine), and Danny Thomas Head (Mary); four sisters: Olene McGowan (John), LaMona Nary Head – Ramirez (Pedro), Brenda Joyce Head and Mary Elizabeth “Lizzie” Head.

He came to Christ at an early age. Dennis loved horses, Rodeos, and Trail Rides. He was a member of the Labor Union, worked at Tangram Rehabilitation Center, Stock Building Materials, Acme Brick and Gutherie Lumber in Austin.

He will live on in others as he was an organ donor, a tissue donor, and a bone donor for Texas Organ Sharing Alliance. He was the first donor for the TOSA University Medical Center Brackenridge.

A Wake will be held at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, March 11, 2016 from 5 – 6 p.m.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday, March 12 at 11:30 a.m. at Dale Corinth United Methodist Church with Rev. L. L. Carter presiding.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mike C. Johnson, Royce Ellison Jr., Franklin Ellison, Harold Brawley, Danny Thomas Head Jr., Gregory Head, Christopher Lee Head, Homer Shaw, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Howard Thompson, Glenn Head, Jefferson Youngblood, William Head, Jessie Ray Head, Terrell Otis Head, Bobby Joe Head, Reuben Otis Head, Danny Thomas Head, and Bruce Head.

    Dennis was a fellow classmate of the LHS Class of 1974, He had a quiet demeanor but always had a great smile. Rest in peace!
