Donald Walter Gregg, 55, of Lockhart, went to be with the Lord on Dec. 9, 2006, at the Temple VA Hospital in Temple, Texas.
Don was born May 2, 1951, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Matthew and Margie Gregg. He joined the Air Force in 1970 and was honorably discharged in 1975 as Sgt. Donald Walter Gregg. He spent the majority of his life in South Sioux City, Neb., where he wor

ked as a Wal-Mart Produce Manager. Don enjoyed old western movies, playing nickel slot machines, and sitting around playing cards with his close family and friends.
In early 2006, Don made his way to Lockhart to be with his children and grandchildren. Little did he know that he would be taken from us due to Multiple Myeloma just a few months later. Don will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Don was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Thomas Matthew Gregg and Gene Allen Young.
He is survived by one sister, Rose Mary and her husband James Gunderson of South Sioux City, Neb.; one brother, William and his wife Nancy Young of Shreveport, La,; three sons, Daymon and his wife Teri Gregg of Pflugerville, Forrest Gregg of Dallas, and Tommy and his wife Audra Gregg of Lockhart; one daughter, Christiane Gregg of Austin; and four grandchildren, David Salinas of Austin, Teresa and Amber Gregg of Lockhart, and Austen Gregg of Pflugerville.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2006, in the McCurdy Memorial Chapel with Deacon Pat Venglar officiating. Interment followed with military honors in the Lockhart City Cemetery. Pallbearers were Porter Hazard, Todd Greer, Jose Derenguel, Patrick Davis, Aaron Baker, and Darren Longley. Don”s grandchildren served as Honorary Pallbearers.
Arrangements were made under the care and guidance of McCurdy Funeral Home, 105 E. Pecan St., Lockhart, (512) 398-4791.
