E.E. Andrewartha Jr., passed away Sunday, Oct. 9, 2005 at the Retirement and Nursing Center in Austin, Texas.
Services were held Friday Oct. 14, 2005 at Eeds Funeral Home in Lockhart. Interment followed at at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, with Full Military Honors.
Andy”s wife Dorothy preceded him in death and she is also placed at Ft. Sam.

Ernest E. “Andy” Andrewartha, Jr., was born in Lockhart, Texas on Feb. 19, 1920. He started to school and finished his high school in Lockhart. He attended Texas A&M University and entered the Corp before entering the Army in active duty. He went to Officers Candidate School in Colorado where he met and later married Dorothy McCoy. Andy was attached to the 143rd Infantry and spent two years, six months and 29 days in Europe in combat where he was wounded twice and was a POW for a time. He returned to the United States on Jan. 26, 1945.
Andy continued to serve in the reserves until 1962 during which time he attended the War College in Leavenworth, Kan. He returned to Lockhart and ran the family Plumbing, Heating and Electrical Business for over 40 years.
E. E. Andrewartha, Jr., retired from the Army and National Guard as a Colonel.
Andy is survived by his two children and their spouses: Scott and Selma Andrewartha of Austin and Amy and Matthew Walker of Lockhart; brother, L. B. Andrewartha of Austin; five grandchildren, Kisha Morrow, Brandi Sifuentes, Matthew Q. Walker, Jr., Joshua H. L. Walker and Sylvia Andrewartha; and five great-grandchildren, Alura and Kira Paben, Zoe Walker, Stone Morrow, and Nicholas Sifuentes.
Andy will be greatly missed by his friends and family alike. He would always greet you as a friend with a handshake and a smile on his face. The ol” coffee stops won”t be the same without him.
