Elaine O. Rader

Mrs. Elaine O. Rader, 94, passed away surrounded by family on April 10, 2011, in Lockhart, Texas. She was born July 27, 1916, the fifth of six surviving children born to Minor and Amanda Harris in Bateman, Texas.

“Ma” is survived by three biological children: Ronnie Cast, of Dale, John Vandiver and wife, Patsy, of Grandbury, and Van Vandiver and wife, Susie, of Arlington

; four stepchildren: O.D. Rader and wife, Mary, of Elgin, Virginia Meredith and husband, Wilburn, of Angleton, Sam Rader and wife, Kathy, of Needville, and James T. Rader and wife, Shirley, of Fremont, Ohio; as well as 24 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Lonnie, Dera, Henry, L.E. and Kennie “Shorty” Harris; husband, Bill Rader; and daughter-in-law, Margaret Cast.

A memorial service will be held Thursday April 14, 2011, at Bateman Baptist Church in Bateman, Texas, at 10:30 a.m.
