Trey Ewald passed away on Feb. 5, to be with his Lord and Maker. Trey left this earth due to a tragic highway accident. He was born Nov. 4, 1973.

He is survived by his son, Tyler, and his parents, Susan Hosto Helka and Ernest Ewald, Jr. He is also survived by his grandparents, Ernest and Alma Ewald; sister, Valerie Stephens; brother, Timothy Ewald; niece, Savannah Stephens;

and numerous cousins, relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Doris and Ralph Hosto, of Arkansas, and brother-in-law James Stephens, of Leander.

Trey recently moved to Summerville, S.C., in changing jobs. He loved the area and living there. Trey enjoyed life, loved the outdoors, his dogs, hunting, fishing, cooking outdoors and was a very skilled marksman. He always looked forward to visits to his grandparents’ Triple E Ranch at McMahan, Texas, for family gatherings and enjoying the great outdoors.

Trey was a son, brother, and friend and is still exactly that.

He was a fun, adventurous, live-on-the-edge kind of spirit that kept us all on our toes and forever surprised. He was always someone we could count on for a great time, full of laughter and story times about the Ewald kids leaving their mark on Lockhart soil. In the end Trey was living exactly the way he loved to live and doing what he loved to do, and there’s something amazing and special about that.

It is beyond words to express how much he will be missed.
