Freshmen Lady Lions lose 22-15 to Vista Ridge

The Lady Lion freshman team lost a tough game last Monday, Dec. 20 at Cedar Park Vista Ridge.
The Lady Lions struggled to hit any shots in the first quarter, as Vista Ridge took the advantage and outscored them 13-3.

Lockhart came back and outscored the Lady Rangers in the next three quarters.

Brite had six points and 12 rebounds while Zaida Hager had four points and two assists. Brite”s sister, Quandanlyn, contributed six rebounds, but the Lady Lions were still down 17-9 at halftime.

The Lady Lions were unable to get any closer than seven points despite two steals from Natalie Briceno and a number of forced turnovers from Elizabeth Johnson. Lockhart lost 22-15 to Vista Ridge.

“This was by far the best game we have played in a while,” said coach Peggy Cadena. “I”m happy and excited about our improvement. I know this team is working hard.”
Jaimie Ruiz contributed a basket for Lockhart while Teie Harris and Oriana Puentes rotated in to help out the Lady Lions.
