Georgia Jeffrey passed away peacefully on June 25, 2009, in Dallas, Texas. She was born in Seguin, Texas, on Aug. 18, 1923, to Tony Koch and C.C. Holland. A longtime resident of Lockhart, she married A.R. “Jack” Jeffrey on Oct. 2, 1946. Georgia was a homemaker and worked in retail sales at Kaigler”s in Lockhart for many years.

and, A.R. “Jack” Jeffrey; her father, C.C. Holland; her foster parents Myrtle and Albert Schneider; her son-in-law, Mark Bartlett; and her foster brother, Bob Schneider.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna Bartlett; her grandsons, Robert Johnson and wife, Kim, and Jonathan Johnson; her and step-grandson, Michael Bartlett; her brother, Thomas Holland; her foster sisters: Joyce Tally, Liz Wales, Katie Thomas and Blanche Reeb; her sister-in-law, Jessie Ballard; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held at McCurdy Funeral Home on Sunday, June 28, 2009, from 7 – 8 p.m. Funeral services were held at Emmanuel Episcopal Church at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 29, 2009, with interment following at Jeffrey Cemetery in McMahan, with Father Tom Bruns officiating.

Honored to serve as pallbearers were: Tommy Holland, Steve Peck, Tip Giles, Jeff Van Horn, Harold Johnson and Robert Johnson. Honorary pallbearers are W.D. Ballard, Dr. P.A. Wales and Robert A.Thomas, PhD.

Memorials may be sent to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Garland, Texas.
