Harold Lewis was born April 21, 1929 in Buda, Texas to the late Sam Lewis and Annie Wade.

He united with his first wife Helen McNeil Lewis. To this union five children were born. And in 1968 he united with his second wife Dorothy Brown Lewis and adopted her daughter.

He was preceded in death by his late wife, Dorothy Brown Lewis; his mother and father; his sisters, Vera W

ade and Sylvia Jean Holmes; his brothers, Fred Crawford, Frank Crawford, Andrew Haynes and Verdell Lewis; his step-son, Lionel McNeil; and his grandson, Alvin Sorrells.

Harold (“Hub”) loved and enjoyed his life to the fullness (especially fast cars). He was a hard worker, a friend to anyone he met. He was fluent in Spanish, and loved to socialize. He had a respect for God as he lay in the bed he never refused a prayer and confess that his belief and acceptance of Jesus Christ.

He leaves to cherish his memory his companion, Leasher Milford; three sons, Robert L. Lewis, AJ Lewis, and Stanley (Bernadette) Lewis, all of Lockhart; two daughters; Virginia Sorrells and A. Virena Rogers, of Lockhart; one step-son, Elton (Rosalynn) Lewis, of Kyle; two step-daughters, Brenda Brown Lewis, of Austin, and Laurice Lewis, of Lockhart; two sisters-in-law, Julia Faye Haynes and Minnie Brawley, both of Lockhart; 22 grandchildren, many, many great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral service was scheduled at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Eeds Funeral Home, with Pastor Billy R. Billups officiating. Burial followed at Hooks Cemetery in Lockhart.

    Hub was loved by so many people in Rockdale. He lived here for more than 20 years and will be missed by all.
