Jamie (Craig) Batson, 53, of Henrietta, formerly of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Friday, March 18, 2016.
Memorial services were planned at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 24, 2016m, at the First United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas.
Jamie was born on Dec. 18, 1962, in Lubbock, Texas to Tomas Bruce and Marsha (Riley) Craig. She married Bruce Batson on Nov. 24, 1991 in El Pas

o, Texas.
Jamie received a master’s degree in Special Education from Texas Tech University. She taught school for numerous years including Lockhart and Fort Stockton, Texas. She loved her students very much and enjoyed the time she had with them.
Jamie was an author and was very proud of her work and loved all the people she met all over the world through her writing. During her journey of fighting cancer, Jamie was able to lift people up with her joyful spirit and wonderful sense of humor. She was able to touch and change so many people’s life with her positive outlook and encouraging words, despite her illness. Jamie was a wonderful, loving daughter, wife, mother, sister and friend.
Survivors include her husband, Bruce, of Henrietta, Texas; son, Zachary Batson, of Hawaii; daughter, Zoe Batson, of Henrietta, Texas; stepsons, Adam Batson and wife, Angie, of Lubbock, Texas, and Ben Batson and wife, Sarah, of Shallow Water, Texas; parents, Tom and Marsha Craig, of Lubbock, Texas; and two sisters, Courtney Hedley, of Lubbock, Texas and Stacy Craig, of Corpus Christi, Texas.
