JD Clendennen, of Lytton Springs, passed away on Nov. 22, 2014. He was born on Oct. 15, 1928, and named James Donald; he was also called Cotton, Brother, Daddy and Papa.

JD was born at home in Lytton Springs and attended schools in Lytton Springs, Lockhart and Luling. He later earned his degree from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos.

JD was a veteran of WWII and the Kor

ean Conflict, having served in the US Marine Corps. He was with the Austin Police Department for five years, and was successful in a few other vocations, but he worked mostly in the automotive service industry.

He retired from teaching Small Engine Repair at Lockhart High School in 1990.

JD was also a professional musician for 40 years, playing around Central Texas; he enjoyed building model airplanes and was truly a man of many talents.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Margie, and by four sisters.

He is survived by four children: Sonny, Linda, and Pete Clendennen, all of Lytton Springs, and Sandra Love, of Luling. He also leaves 11 grandchildren and a large extended family.

Interment was at the Lytton Springs Cemetery on Nov. 25, 2014.
