Jeane Coggins, died on Sunday, January 23, 2005 at Hospice Austin”s Christopher House after succumbing to the effects of cancer. She died peacefully with her children at her side.
She was a loving mother to her four children, and a devoted grandmother to her five grandchildren.
She was born during WWII in war-torn London, and was mercifully able to spend her ch

ildhood with her grandmother in Ireland. After returning to London, she married an American serviceman, which took her to several locations in Europe and the United States, eventually settling in Lockhart.
Her professional passion was in buying and selling antique jewelry and collectibles.
We were blessed to be able to learn the true meaning of unconditional love from our mother, and are passing this blessing on to our own children. All who knew our mother were touched by her kindness, her good nature, and her generosity, which will continue, as she has donated her remains so that medical science can continue to make advances, helping those she leaves behind to live longer, more rewarding lives.
We would like to sincerely thank the many friends of our mother who supported and prayed for her, the doctors and staff at the South Austin Cancer Center, and the doctors and staff at Hospice Austin”s Christopher House.
In lieu of flowers, any small donation to Hospice Austin”s Christopher House or Meals on Wheels would be most welcome. Our mother requested us to organize a gathering to celebrate her life, which will be held Sunday the 30th at her daughter’s house in Manchaca. Please call 797-9127 for information.
