Mrs. Jesusa Rodriguez Alonzo, 69, of Lockhart, passed away peacefully Friday, Jan. 18, 2008, surrounded by her husband, children and sister. She was born on Feb. 5, 1938, to Trinidad and Conrada Rodriguez in Staples, Texas. She was a lifelong Lockhart resident and parishioner at St. Mary”s Of the Visitation.
Jesusa lived life to its fullest. Traveling with her husband,

playing games with her grandchildren, playing the guitar. But most of all she enjoyed celebrating the birth of Jesus with Posadas each December. She held Posadas each year for the past 35 years, a wonderful tradition that will surely be missed by all.
She leaves to mourn, her husband of 51 years, Atanacio E. Alonzo; daughter, Mary Ann Mejia and husband, Norman, and sons, Norman Cristian and Esteban Antonio of Austin; daughter, Yolanda A. Amaya, husband, Jesse L., and son Jesus Demetrio; daughter, Olga Alonzo-Trejo, husband, Joe P. Trejo, Jr., and sons, Ambrosio Elias Alonzo-Garcia, Aaron Trinidad Alonzo-Garcia, Ezekiel, J.T., Jose Paul, III, Jose Angel and Xavier Arnulfo, and daughter, Conrada Cristal Trejo; son Ricardo Martin Alonzo, Sr., wife, Cynthia, daughters Teresa Maria and Adriana, and son, Ricardo Martin, Jr.; eldest granddaughter, Leticia M. Flores, and husband, Scott Kruse; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Matthew and Ellena Grace Kruse, all of Lockhart; sister, Ignacia Hernandez, husband, Laurentino, and children Monica Bunch and Sergio Hernandez, of Jacksonville; and brothers, Guadalupe and Juan Rodriguez of Seguin.
Recitation of the rosary was at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 20, 2008 at the DeLeon Funeral Home by Rosary Crusade of Martindale, Texas, along with Anita DeLeon, Adelita Zavala and Deacon Guadalupe Aguilar. Music by Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church group and Gilbert Aguilar and friends. Funeral mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 21,2008, at St. Mary”s Of The Visitation with Celebrant Reverend Robert Becker and musician Frank Rodriguez. A special reading was performed by Samuel Juventino Flores, and Altar Servers were Anissa Ramirez and Andres Esquivel of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Burial followed in St. Mary”s Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Gregorio Contreras, Fernando Perez, Juan DeLeon, Martin Alfaro, Sr., Sergio Nicolas Hernandez and Frank R. Gonzales.
