Dad was called to heaven by our Lord and our Mom on Saturday, Jan. 27, 2007.
Jimmie Clayton Burditt was born June 29, 1925 in Luling, Texas. He shared 49 years with his wife Erleen Weber Burditt. She preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his father (Allie Lee Burditt), mother (Neoma Lillian Northcutt Burditt) and brother (Joe Lee Burditt). He is survi

ved by his brother Dannie Edward Burditt of Gonzales.
He was 81 years young. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his strength and determination. Even on the cold, rainy days he would find a way to feed his cattle. He offered many a handshake at local feed stores and auctions. He eagerly attended the ballgames, school plays and performances of his grandchildren. He treasured an arm-in-arm walk. He often shared tales of his service in the Navy serving on the USS Kasan and of his days working offshore on drilling rigs. “Shorty” could shoot a left-handed game of pool better than most. He grew up in Gonzales on the river and remembered the days of hard work and hard play. He rode a horse to school uphill and probably in the snow. It was a thrill to watch Jimmie and Erleen cut-a-rug. He enjoyed a good steak, a cold beer and an L&M. He was a man with many friends of all ages. He was loved.
He leaves great memories with his children: Larry Burditt (and wife Kristie), Joe Lee Burditt, Debra French-Dalton (and husband Garry), Kathy Barrow Smith (and husband Phil), Ernest W. Barrow (and wife Mary), and Bob Barrow (and wife Jan). He recognized Greg “Rojo” Rawlinson as a son.
“Grandpa” influenced the lives of his grandchildren: Sawyer Burditt, Ashlee Burditt, Kassidy Hoff, Tyson Hoff, J.T. Niemann, Kenneth McWhorter, James Lagan, Dee Whalen, David Dalton, Cody Dalton, Dusty Dalton, Keaton Smith, Kelsie Smith, Philip Ross Smith, Pamela Smith, David Barrow and Robert (Clay) Barrow. He had four great-grandchildren: Brittany Dunston, Justin Dunston, Brooke Barrow and Caitlin Barrow.
Friends called at Eeds Funeral Home beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday, where the family was present from 6 – 8 p.m. A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, Jan. 31 at 1 p.m. at Eeds Funeral Home Chapel in Lockhart. Pallbearers were: Greg Rawlinson, John Buckner, Russell Nickel, James French, James Lagan, Ronnie Brzozowski. Honorary pallbearers were: Edwin Mills and Don Hunter. Interment followed at the Lockhart City Cemetery.
