Juana “Juanita” Tello, 96, of Lockhart, passed away Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at home. She was born on Nov. 24, 1909, in Lockhart to Porfiro Tello and Josefa (Mendez) Tello.
Juanita loved taking care of her family, especially her brother, Domingo. They took care of each other all of their lives. She was very protective of him and he was always there for her. When she fe

ll ill, he watched over her with great care until the time of her death. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Mary”s Catholic Church.
Juanita was preceded in death by her parents, Porfiro and Josefa Tello and by three brothers and four sisters.
She is survived by her special niece, Florinda Jaime and her husband Daniel of San Antonio; two brothers, Domingo Tello of San Antonio and Adolfo Tello of Houston; one sister, Paubla Frausto of Austin; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A rosary was said for Juanita at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2006, at McCurdy Funeral Home.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at St. Mary”s Catholic Church with Father Robert Becker officiating. Interment followed in St. Mary”s Cemetery in Lockhart, with Juanita”s nieces and nephews serving as pallbearers.
Arrangements were made under the care and guidance of McCurdy Funeral Home, 105 E. Pecan St., Lockhart, (512) 398-4791.
