Kiwanis 5K Stampede hosts Central Texas runners

With a total of 157 runners participating in the Lockhart Kiwanis 5K Stampede on Saturday, June 14 the race was a great success.
Runners from across Central Texas, and as far as Fort Worth and Texarkana all took part in the 5K Stampede.
The 5K started promptly at 8 a.m. and 36 Lockhart runners made it to the finish line.


Lockhart’s own Cameron Peters, 16, finished first with a time of 17:42 winning the race, first place in the 18 and under male category and being named Best Overall Male.
Finishing right behind Peters with a time of 17:50 was 48-year-old Ross Hill of San Marcos, who won second place in the race and first place in the 40-49 male category.
The third place finisher was 31-year-old Hawk Harris of Elgin. Harris also won first place in the 30-39 male category.
Finishing fourth in the race with a time of 18:38 was 29-year-old Kyle Morris of Lockhart. Morris finished first in the 20-29 male category.
Nate Moore, 14, finished eighth. Cody Datesman, also 14, finished ninth. Lee Datesman finished 17th, Caleb Peters finished 22nd, Nick Kestler finished 23rd and Mack O’Neill finished 27th in the race.
Anna Seals, 24, of Austin finished fifth in the race with a time of 18:43. She also finished first in the Best Overall Female category and first in the 19-29 female category.
Bob Wischnia, 55, of Austin, finished 11th in the race with a time of 20:16 and first in the 50-59 male category.
Hilary Raemsch, 17, of Cedar Creek, finished 26th in the race with a time of 23:12 and first in the 18 and under female category.
Bernadette Beck, 51, of San Antonio finished 30th in the race with a time of 23:46 and first in the 50-59 female category.
Kathryn Welch, 41, of San Marcos, finished 35th in the race with a time of 24:32 and first in the 40-49 female category.
Joel Davis, 69, of Kyle finished 39th in the race with a time of 25:25 and first in the 60-69 male category.
Angela Tuttle, 38, of Fort Worth, finished 41st in the race with a time of 25:46 and first in the 30-39 female category.
Bill Relyea, 43, of New Braunfels finished in sixth place in the race with a time of 18:57 earning himself a second place finish in the 40-49 male category.
Anthony Moltz, 17, of Pflugerville finished in seventh place overall with a time of 19:14 earning himself a second place finish in the 18 and under male category.
The youngest runner to finish was 7 year old Tristan Smith of San Marcos, who finished 113th with a time of 38:12 right behind the oldest runner to finish, 74-year-old B.J. Wright of Cedar Creek. Wright finished 112th with a time of 38:05.
The last Lockhart runner to cross the finish line was 68-year-old Patsy Kretzmeier who finished 144th out of 157 runners. Her time was 47:51.
Congratulations to all the runners who placed in the race.
