Lady Lion softball falls to Elgin

The Lady Lion varsity softball team faced Elgin Tuesday, April 5, in Lockhart.
It was a battle for first place since both teams had two losses in district play.
Elgin proved to be too much for the Lady Lions this time around. Elgin scored the only run of the game in the top of the fourth inning.
The Lady Lions tried to get something started in both the sixt

h and seventh innings, but left runners stranded.
Janie Juarez led off the sixth inning with a double and Lee Smith led off the seventh with a single. These were the only two hits of the game.
“It was an awesome game, and an unfortunate loss,” Head Coach Lisa Cone said.
The Lady Lions also faced Vista Ridge on Friday, April 8.
The second inning started with a line drive going into left field for a triple by Krystal Schulle.
Yvette Alarcon drove in Schulle and the Lady Lions went on the scoreboard first.
Vista Ridge scored in the top of the fourth, and the game remained close until the sixth inning when things started to collapse for Lockhart.
The final score of the game was 1-6 in favor of Vista Ridge.
Their next home game will be against Pflugerville Connally on Friday, April 15, at 7:30 p.m.

J.V. vs. Elgin

The Lady Lion junior varsity softball team took a tough loss to Elgin Tuesday, April 5, with a score of 5-0.
Both teams went into this game with an undefeated record and looking to be the sole owner of first place in district. Lockhart played solid, errorless defense, but could not score the four runners they left on base.
The Lady Lions did have hits from Annette McElroy-Ramirez, Jaimie Ruiz, and Erika Levario.
The Lady Lions are currently 4-1 in district and 7-2 overall.
Their next home game will be against Pflugerville Connally on Friday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m.
