Lady Lions fired up, ready for playoffs

The Lady Lions are on fire and on their way to the playoffs. Thanks to their outstanding level of play and their relentless determination to win, they are getting there without missing a beat.
The Lady Lions defeated their last regular season opponent the Schertz Clemens Lady Buffaloes with a score of 15-0.

ed four runs in the first inning, one in the second, four in the fifth and six in the seventh.
Veronica Escobedo was 3-5 with a double and an RBI. Zaida Hager was 3-5 with one RBI while Taylor Boedecker was 2-5 with two RBIs. Janie Juarez was 2-5 with two RBIs, Chelsy Martinez was 2-5 with three RBIs and Amanda Capello was 2-5 with three RBIs.
Brandy Stacks had two RBIs. Kassie Gaddis and Jamie Schulle each had a double while Karoline Pfefferkorn added a single. Krista Law played consistent defense through out the game. Schulle played aggressively in the outfield and Boedecker went the extra mile in the circle, striking out eight Lady Buffaloes and allowing only three hits from Clemens.
The Lady Lions earned a second place finish in District 26-AAAA, just one game behind district champions New Braunfels Canyon. Lockhart’s district play record ended at 12-2 with an overall record of 27-5-1.
The Lady Lions will face Pflugerville Hendrickson on Thursday, April 24 at the Noack Sports Complex in Austin for the Bi-District Championship game. Lockhart will play a two out of three series. The game starts at 7 p.m.
They will also be playing at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 at the same place. The Noack Sports Complex is located at 5300 Crainway Dr. in Austin. For information on Saturday’s game call 512-844-8323.
