Lady Lions split victories as season winds down

As the second round of District play winds down, the Lady Lions split victories in the Hays CISD last week, winning in five over Lehman and falling in three to Hays.

The Lady Lions had a long night in Kyle on Oct. 9, going five games against the Lehman Lady Lobos, and finally picking up the victory with scores of (20-25), (26-24), (22-25), (25-14) and finally (15-10).

lie Jackson was a leader at the net, with 11 kills and six blocks. Morgan Von Dohlen came through with 24 assists on the night, and Randa Homann had 31 digs. Alex Howard was strong from the serving line with three aces.

On Friday night, the Lady Lions returned to Hays for an early game against the Lady Rebels. After a hard-fought and exciting evening, though, the Lady Lions took the loss, falling in three, (15-25), (19-25) and (12-25).

Tassandra McClelland had five kills on the night, and Jackson had two blocks. Von Dohlen logged 11 assists, and Homann added 13 digs.

Howard put up one ace.

The Lady Lions have finished traveling, and will close out their season at home. They hosted Kerrville Tivy on Tuesday, Oct. 16, and will host Boerne Champion on Friday, Oct. 19 before ending the season with Parents” Night on Tuesday, Oct. 23 in a showdown with the Seguin Lady Matadors.

The Lady Lions play in the Lion”s Den gym, and games begin at 6:30 p.m.
