Lady Lions storm through perfect season

The freight train of a softball season continued last week for the Lady Lions, who recorded commanding leads over a pair of district opponents last week.
On Good Friday, Amanda White threw a complete game shutout against Boerne Champion as Lockhart won the game 15-0.
White lasted four innings on the mound, allowing three hits while striking out five and walking one batter.
Lockhart recorded 12 hits in the game. Gracie Bell, Alex Hedspeth, White, and Katelyn Tull each managed multiple hits, with Bell leading with three hits in all three at bats.
The Lions tallied five runs in the third inning to pull away with the lead. The big inning included scores on walks by Trinity Castillo and Alyssa Barrientez, a single by White and an error on a ball put in play by Tull.
The Lady Lions didn’t commit any errors on the field against Boerne Champion.
Earlier in the week, the Lady Lions beat Seguin 10-3, capitalizing off a six run sixth inning. The decisive frame was driven by singles by Leah Herrera and Tull, a triple by White and a sacrifice fly by Hedspeth.
Lockhart got the scoring started in the first inning. Hedspeth doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run.
Barrientez earned the victory on the mound. She allowed six hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out one and walking one.
Lockhart totaled 13 hits for the day. Melissa Camacho, Hedspeth, Castillo, and White all recorded two hits for the Lady Lions.

Varsity baseball squad falls to Tivy
The Lockhart Lions dropped a district game to Tivy, falling 12-2 on the road.
Brandon Finger took the loss for the Lions, allowing nine hits and eight runs over four innings and striking out one batter.
Isaac Martinez had two hits and Jose Delgadillo added one to lead the Lions.
But it was a tough day to face Tivy batters, who recorded 15 hits in the game, pulling away in a four-run sixth inning.
