Funeral services for Lanier Carter Gorom, 82, of Honey Grove, were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007, at Honey Grove Christian Church under the direction of Wise Funeral Home, with Rev. Gary Gibbs officiating. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 29, 2007 at Bunton Cemetery in Dale with Rev. Bob Hahn officiating.

ct. 23, 2007 at Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
Lanier was born Oct. 26, 1924 in Lockhart, Texas, daughter of Horace B. and Edith Hogan Carter. She married Edwin William Gorom on July 8, 1952 in Lockhart.
Lanier was a graduate of Lytton Springs High School and received her bachelor of arts degree from Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos. She also received a degree in Library Science from East Texas State in Commerce.
Lanier retired in 1985 from Leonard High School, where she taught biology and chemistry. She was then County Librarian for several area schools.
She enjoyed working puzzle books and collecting cookbooks.
She is survived by her loving husband, Edwin W. Gorom of Honey Grove; daughter Mary Nell Gorom of Honey Grove; and sisters, Mildred Pettit of The Woodlands, Texas, Blanch Carter of San Antonio, and twin sister Lanell Gabrel of Irving.
Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church in Honey Grove, or the American Heart Association.
