Mrs. Lavada K. Miles, 89, of Lockhart died June 14, 2005 in Lockhart. Mrs. Miles was born July 31, 1915 in Lockhart to Wylie and Willie Brock Kelley. She was united in marriage to Kermit Lamar Miles March 31, 1935. Mr. Miles preceded her in death in 1996. Mrs. Miles is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kermit Glenn and Marie Miles of Lockhart; grandchildren, Glenda R.

Miles of Corpus Christi, Brenda K. and husband Michael Swann of Jefferson, S.C., Kelley J. Miles of New Albany, Ind., Richard M. Cook and wife Betty Jean of Bartlesville, Okla. and Robert W. Cook of Austin; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Joanathan, Stephen, Amanda, Brittany and Matthew; great-great-grandchild, Skyla; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Lavada graduated from Lockhart High School in 1933. She worked at the Bunyard Chiropractic Clinic and at the Caldwell County Courthouse where she remained employed until she retired. Lavada was a long time member of the First Christian Church, Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star and Shriner”s Travel Club. She enjoyed many activities including camping, sewing club, cooking and hanging out with family and friends. She and Kermit loved attending Central Texas” Country Music Shows in area community halls.
Visitation will be held from 6 – 9 p.m. on Thursday June 16, at Eeds Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Grace Lutheran Church in Lockhart with Rev. Wayne Walther, Rev. Randy Frye, and Rev. Carolyn Rosenbalm officiating. Interment will follow in the Lockhart City Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Kelley, Troy Eckard, Glenn L. Kelley, Terry Mack Kelley, Rudy Schroeder and Lou Berry.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
