FOR PROPOSED

REHABILITATION OF

FLOODWATER

RETARDING

STRUCTURE NO. 28 OF THE LOWER PLUM CREEK WATERSHED,

CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS

The Plum Creek Conservation District (PCCD) and Caldwell-Travis Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) (local sponsors of the Lower Plum

Creek Watershed), and the United States Department of Agriculture-Natural Resources Conservation Service (USDA-NRCS) are beginning the planning process to develop a Supplemental Watershed Plan and Environmental Evaluation (plan/EE). The plan/EE will address the rehabilitation needs of Floodwater Retarding Structure (FRS) No. 28 of Lower Plum Creek Watershed. FRS No. 28 is located northeast of McMahan in Caldwell County.

This project is part of the Small Watershed Rehabilitation Amendments of 2000 (Section 313, PL 106-472). This legislation authorized the USDA-NRCS to work with local com-munity leaders and watershed sponsors to rehabilitate aging watershed dams built under Public Law 78-534, Public Law 83-566, and the Pilot Watershed programs.

PCCD, Caldwell-Travis SWCD, and NRCS are hosting a public informational meeting. Meeting date, time, and location are as follows:

December 18th, 2014

Thursday, 6-8 PM

Plum Creek Conservation District Conference Room

1101 W. San Antonio St.

Lockhart, TX 78644

The meeting will begin at 6 PM and conclude at 8 PM. It will consist of a “come and go” type of format. There will not be a formal presentation. However, information will be available concerning the purpose of the rehabilitation program, eligibility requirements of the dam, what could happen if the dam is not rehabilitated, and the planning process. Attendees will be able to ask questions and provide comments concerning the rehabilitation process for the dam. Written comments will be accepted through December 31, 2014 and can be submitted to the following address:

ORDINANCE 2014-22

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LOCKHART, TEXAS, AMENDING CHAPTER 46 “SIGNS” OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES TO LIMIT THE HEIGHT OF CERTAIN EXEMPT FREE-STANDING SIGNS ERECTED BY A GOVERNMENTAL BODY IN SUBSECTION (2), SECTION 46-11 “SIGNS EXEMPT FROM SECTION 46-11”; AND TO CHANGE THE WIND-LOADING STANDARD IN SUBSECTION (a), AND CHANGE THE TYPE AND HEIGHT OF FREE-STANDING SIGNS THAT MUST BE DESIGNED BY A PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER IN SUBSECTION (b), SECTION 46-12 “CONSTRUCTION STANDARDS”; PROVIDING FOR SEVERABILITY; PROVIDING A REPEALER; PROVIDING FOR PENALTY; PROVIDING FOR PUBLICATION; AND ESTABLISHING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.

 

Penalty: Any person who violates any provision of this ordinance shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be fined as provided in Section 1-8 of the City Code.

 

ORDINANCE 2014-23

AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF LOCKHART, TEXAS, RELEASING A 78.437-ACRE TRACT OFLAND LOCATED ON WILLIAMSON ROAD IN THE SAMPSON CONNELL LEAGUE, ABSTRACT NO. 63, IN CALDWELL COUNTY, TEXAS, FROM THE CITY OF LOCKHART EXTENDED (VOLUNTARY) EXTRATERRITORIAL JURISDICTION.

 

The complete ordinances may be viewed at the City Secretary’s Office, 308 West San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas, during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
