ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS

 

Sealed proposals addressed to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Lockhart will be received at the Lockhart City Hall, 308 West San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until 11:00 A.M., Wednesday,December 12, 2012 for the new Lockhart Animal Shelter, at which time an

d place will be publicly opened and read aloud. Any bid received after closing time will be returned unopened.

 

SCOPE OF WORK:

Provide Labor only, for all the electrical wiring and associated work required for the completion of the New Animal Shelter Administration Building and K-9 facility. All work will be required to meet the current National Electrical Code.

 

Work will require bid winner to:

 

1) Provide city with material take off necessary for completion of the work required.

 

 

Bidders shall submit with their bids a Cashier”s Check in the amount of five percent (5%) of the maximum total bid, payable to the City of Lockhart, Texas without recourse, or a Proposal Bond in the same amount from an approved Surety Company as a guarantee that Bidder will enter into a contract and execute performance and payment bonds on the forms provided, within ten (10) days after the award of Contract. Bids without check or Proposal Bond will not be considered.

 

The successful Bidder must furnish Performance and Payments Bonds each in the amount of 100% of the contract price from an approved Surety Company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as Surety and acceptable according to the latest list of companies holding certificates of authority from the Secretary of Treasury of the United States, or other Surety or Sureties acceptable to the Owner.

 

Plans and specifications may be obtained from the Public Works Office located at 705 Wichita Street, Lockhart, Texas, upon receipt of payment of Twenty five ($25.00) Dollars. Please make checks or money-orders payable to the City of Lockhart. PAYMENT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. PLEASE CALL (512) 398-6452 IN ORDER TO INSURE PLANS ARE AVAILABLE WHEN YOU WISH TO PICKUP.

 

The City Council of the City of Lockhart reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive formalities. No bid may be withdrawn within sixty (60) days after the date on which bids are received.

City Hall Roof

 

The City of Lockhart is accepting written proposals from qualified roofing professionals for a new minimum 24 gauge standing seam metal roof, excluding the skylights area, at City Hall located at 308 W. San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas 78644. The sealed proposals, which  should be marked “City Hall Roof Proposal”, will be accepted until 11:00 am, Wednesday, December 12, 2012, and can be mailed to the above address, dropped off at the above address or mailed to P O Box 239, Lockhart, Texas, 78644,

 

At the time of submittal, proposals must include: 3 sets of architect/engineer sealed construction plans describing the materials and details for installation of the new standing seam metal roof; the bid must include the cost of the sealed construction plans, all supervision, labor, equipment and material costs to perform all tasks for placement of the new roof to accomplish a weather tight roof system. The new roof must have a guarantee of 10 years against leaking due to workmanship and/or materials.

 

The flat roof area may be inspected during normal business hours. Contractor must bring own ladder.

 

Prior to award, the successful qualified contractor at their own expense must provide proof of workers compensation and general liability insurance coverage naming the City of Lockhart as an additional insured party and must also provide a warranty bond for the 10 year guarantee period.

PUBLIC ADVERTISEMENT FOR ENGINEERING SERVICES

 

The City of Lockhart is seeking to contract with a qualified engineer/engineering firm (registered to practice in the State of Texas) to prepare all preliminary and final design plans and specifications, and to conduct all necessary interim and final inspections for the City”s Texas Community Development Block Grant Program (TxCDBG) – Community Development Fund project for the 2013/2014(PY) Program Year:

 

Texas Community Development Block Grant Program fund allocations are not known at this time.  The City cannot guarantee that it will receive TxCDBG funding.  Service contracts are contingent upon the City receiving a TxCDBG grant award.

 

Please submit your proposal of services, and a statement of qualifications per the City”s Request for Proposal (RFP) package and selection criteria, which can be obtained from the Office of the City Secretary, City of Lockhart, 308 West San Antonio, Lockhart, Texas 78644.

On this day, the Court heard the Motion of VASHTI MISAI TORRES, Plaintiff, in this cause~ for service of citation on Defendant, ANGEL DELATORRE VILCHIS, by a manner other than by serving the registered agent of service in person. The Court heard and considered the Motion and the supporting affidavit and is of the opinion that service has been attel1Jpted on the Defendant by delivering to the Defendant at his place of abode and that such attempts were unsuccessful. Further, the Court is of the opinion that the manner of service requested will be reasonabiy effective to give the Defendant notice of this suit.

The City of Lockhart is receiving separate sealed bids at 308 W. San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until 10 am on Thursday, December 20, 2012, for each trade from qualified individuals and/or companies for mechanical, plumbing and electrical work associated with the expansion of the Clark Library into the 2nd and 3rd floors of the library annex and for alterations and additions to the first floor. A bid bond or cashiers check equal to 5% of the total bid must be submitted with the bid. Sealed envelopes for each trade should be marked externally one of the following: Library Mechanical Bid or Library Plumbing Bid or Library Electrical Bid. Bids submitted must be good for 90 days from award. Proof of general liability and workers compensation coverage naming the City of Lockhart as an additional insured will be required before final award.

 

One free MPE plan set (11″ x 17″) and bid sheet per trade may be picked up at City Hall, 308 W San Antonio Street, during normal business days and hours or may be downloaded from the City of Lockhart website at www.lockhart-tx.org under Clark Library Phase II.

San Antonio Street, Lockhart, Texas 78644, until 10 am on Thursday, December 20, 2012, from qualified individuals and/or companies for installation of an elevator that will serve three floors in Clark Library Annex. A bid bond or cashiers check equal to 5% of the total bid must be submitted with the bid. Bids submitted must be good for 90 days. Sealed bid envelopes should be marked “Library Elevator”. Proof of general liability and workers compensation coverage naming the City of Lockhart as an additional insured will be required before final award.

 

Plan sets (11″ x 17″) and specifications may be picked up at City Hall, 308 W San Antonio Street, during normal business days and hours at no cost for one set or may be downloaded from the City of Lockhart website at www.lockhart-tx.org under Clark Library Phase II.
