Lydia “Lilly” Serna passed away peacefully at her daughter’s residence on Feb. 4, 2015 at the age of 82, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born in Stanton, Texas on Oct. 19, 1932 to Lazaro Corpus, and Carmen Corpus. She owned and operated Lilly’s Bar and Grill and was a business owner for over 60 years. She is preceded in death by her spouse, Manue

l Garcia Serna; her parents, Lazaro V. Corpus, Vicente Corpus and Carmen G. Corpus; and her brothers, Alejandro Corpus and Vincent Corpus.

She is survived by her sister Carmen C. Garza, and her husband, Pete Garza; her brother, Lazaro Corpus, Jr.; her three daughters, Gina C. Serna, of Lockhart, Ramona S. Gonzales and spouse, Saul Gonzales, of San Marcos, and Lydia C. Serna, II, and spouse, Clemente Medellin, III; 12 grandchildren: Jesse Z. Herrera and spouse, Vanessa L., James R. Cruz, Benjamin T. Cruz, Samantha Cruz-Serna, Manuel Angel Cruz-Serna, Nellie Serna Smith and her husband, Preston Kyle Smith, Stephen Gonzales and fiancé, Ruby Amaya, Alexandria Gonzales, Sariah Gonzales, Ben Serna Garza, IV, and fiancé, Franchesca Novik, Rebecca Serna Garza and Manuel Serna Garza; her 14 great grandchildren: Savannah V. Herrera, Leah E. Herrera, Nathan Herrera, Kiarah Herrera, Jonathan Rodriguez, Alycia R. Herrera, Donavon Herrera, Zayden Hiram Herrera, Preston Smith, Nehemiah Gonzales, Jeremiah Rey Garza, Joseph Abel Garza, Genisis Camille Lilly Garza, and Julian Salinas; and her niece Monica Anna Corpus.

On Feb. 6, 2015, from 1-5 p.m. she lay in state at Eeds Funeral Home. A rosary was held at St. John’s Catholic Church in San Marcos, at 7:30 p.m. On Feb. 7, 2015, from 9 – 11 a.m., lay in state at Eeds Funeral Home. Mass was held at St. John’s Catholic Church at noon on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2015, with graveside service following to Las Tres Indias Ranch at 12 Serna Dr., Lockhart, Texas.

All arrangements will be made with Eeds Funeral Home, 408 S. Main, Lockhart, Texas, 78644 (512) 398-2343.

    MISS LILLY was a ONE in a millon person–so thoughtful and caring. My prayers are for her family. I will miss her dearly-her smile, her hugs, her joyous attitude and her faith in mankind! Bless HER!

    Our condolences to the Family she was a beautiful lady that was there for everyone here in Lockhart a beautiful person inside and out. Listen and gave advice when u needed it. Lilly I will miss you even though we didn’t spend much time together I enjoyed talking to you. will miss the Christmas spirit you brought to a lot of little children. Rest In Peace Lilly Serna and you will be missed..

      Thank you very much. Although she may not be here physically she will always be here in spirit. Her Christmas tradition will be carried on in her honor.

    Thank you Shirley, my Aunt Lydia was indeed her right hand woman in everything. She as well as her sisters were all amazing women in my grandmothers life. She will truly be missed.
