Despite oppressive heat and lower-than-usual attendance at the weekend dances, Chisholm Trail Roundup 2005 was a successful event, according to Lockhart Chamber of Commerce president Wayne Bock.
“The attendance was down at the dances on Friday and Saturday night,” Bock said. “But gate attendance was way up, we had more people at the park than in the past. The Thursday

night dance also had higher attendance.”
Bock said that carnival attendance and sales in the Main Pavilion were higher than in past years, a change that he credits to the large crowds in the park.
