The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is searching for information in the death of a young man in Lockhart on Christmas morning.
According to Sgt. Darrell Jirral, Torey Wayne Blackstock, 21, was killed by a hit-and-run driver while walking on FM 1322 either late in the evening of Dec. 24, or early in the

morning of Dec. 25. The call came in to authorities at 3:45 a.m. that Blackstock was seen on or in the road, evidently struck by a passing vehicle.
“We don’t have a lot of information and we don’t have a lot to go on,” he said.  Lab reports have not yet revealed whether paint or other fibers were found on Blackstock’s clothing, and toxicology reports had not yet been made available to help authorities determine Blackstock’s movements on the night of the incident.
According to the accident report, Blackstock’s body was found on FM 1322 near the 486 mile marker, generally between Cedar Hall and Center Point Road (FM 211). It is unclear his direction of travel, or the direction of travel of the vehicle that struck him.
A current photograph of Torey Blackstock was not available at press time. Anyone with information about his whereabouts on Christmas Eve or Christmas morning, or with details that could lead to the driver responsible for the hit-and-run, is encouraged to contact the DPS Highway Patrol Office at (512) 353-7000.
