Mayor Lew White of the City of Lockhart announced this week that Fashion Glass & Mirror, LLC (FGM) – a leader in fine craftsmanship of glass and mirrors for Texas – is expanding operations with a new manufacturing facility in Lockhart, Texas, creating 100 jobs for the area.
The company plans to build a 25,000 square foot facility on land purchased to house manufacturing, warehousing and office suites at 2222 W. San Antonio St. The FGM Central Texas location will be the anchor facility of the Centerpoint at Lockhart development at SH142 and SH130 providing superior transportation opportunities for the company.
“We congratulate the City of Lockhart on being selected by Fashion Glass and Mirror for its Central Texas location,” said Adriana Cruz, President of The Greater San Marcos Partnership. “The expansion of FGM to Lockhart reinforces the value of a regional approach to economic development and quality job creation. Critical to their decision was the transportation infrastructure in the corridor specifically SH 130 to connect them to their customers in north and south Texas.”
FGM was founded as a privately held family business in 1973 to service the local marketplace with a rich heritage of fine craftsmanship and quality service. Currently the company has a fleet of 90 trucks serving the marketplace with projections to grow rapidly. The company plans to open its Central Texas facility with 60 employees and 30 trucks, with projections to quickly expand employment. Their workforce has grown from the original first three employees in 1973 to more than 250 and expects to reach 350 with the Lockhart expansion.
“When it came time to build a Central Texas location, Lockhart was ideal because of its infrastructure’s access to our other facilities,” said Larry Jaynes, President of Fashion Glass and Mirror, LLC. “SH 130 provides us swift, direct routes that will allow us to continue to grow and be Texas’ leading provider of glass and mirrors.”
FGM will be the first of two suppliers of the housing construction industry to locate in Lockhart since the start of 2014. The location of these two companies will create approximately 100 jobs initially.
Today, Fashion Glass and Mirror LLC proudly serves clients that build 1,000 homes a year to builders that craft a single stately manor. They have the experience to handle any size home or project and work directly with interior designers and homeowners who are remodeling their existing homes using updated trends and material selections.
