Lady Lions lead in Quarterfinal Series

The Lady Lions Varsity softball team scored an 8-2 win over the Marble Falls Mustangs on Thursday night, keeping their championship goals alive.

Despite high winds and bitter cold, the Lady Lions made a strong stand in Game One, holding the Mustangs scoreless until the fifth inning. The Lady Lions expanded their lead in the seventh, stacking up four runs and keeping the Mustangs from finding their way back across home plate.

The second game of the three-game series will be held tonight, Friday, May 3, at East View High School, in Georgetown. From I-35, follow Highway 29 through Georgetown, across SH-130, and turn right into East View High. From SH-130, exit Highway 29, turn right on Highway 29 and again into East View High’s parking area. The first pitch will be thrown at 7 p.m.

The third game, if necessary, is slated at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 4. The winner of the three-game series will advance to the Regional Semifinals to face either Clemens or Leander.
