Lockhart man jailed on drug charges

A Lockhart man was arrested on Friday after a joint investigation with the Lockhart Police Department and the Chisholm Trail Narcotics Task Force led police to his door.
The 24-year-old man was arrested at his home in Lockhart in the early-morning hours on Friday. A statement released by the Task Force and the Lockhart Police Department said that more than five pounds

of marijuana and 451 tablets of Xanax were seized during the arrest.
“The street value of the narcotics seized os over $10,000,” said Caldwell County Sheriff Daniel Law.
The man will be charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance over 200 grams. He was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for assault-family violence. Further, he is a repeat offender with six prior drug arrests, including one for delivery of marijuana in 2003.
“The arrest of this individual underscores the continuing efforts of the task force and local law enforcement to remove repeat and violent drug offenders from our community”, said Lockhart Police Department Chief Coggins.
The suspect was placed in the Caldwell County Jail, with a bond set at $25,000.
