The Lockhart ISD Board of Trustees will look to name a lone finalist in its superintendent search by June 23, according to a timeline unveiled Monday in a special school board meeting.
Representatives from the Texas Association of School Boards, which is leading Lockhart’s search for a superintendent to replace Dr. Susan Bohn, who is set to leave for Aledo ISD over the summer, discussed the fast-paced search timeline with trustees and discussed what attributes they wanted in their next district leader.
The timeline moves things along rapidly. The submission deadline for applications is midnight, May 23. All application info will be sent to the seven-person school board for review on May 24, and a review of the applications will be conducted during a 3-hour meeting beginning Tuesday, May 29.
Before that meeting, school board members will have been asked to narrow their applicants down to between 10 and 12. The goal is to emerge from the meeting with 6-8 candidates to bring in for a first interview, TASB representatives said.
