A beautiful baby girl was born on Jan. 9, 1934, to parents Hubert and Ella May Baynes Jackson, Sr. They named her Lola Mae. She is the fourth of nine children.

Lola Mae attended school and received her education at Crockett Colored High School in Crockett, Texas. She accepted Christ early in life and united with Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.

She married Earl Fobbs, an

d later married James Bruce Head. No children were born from this union.

On Dec. 21, 2011, in San Marcos, Texas, Lola Mae left this earth on the Wings of Angels. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert Jackson, Sr., and Ella Mae Reese; grandparents, Lavada LaRue and Claude Baynes; sisters, Dorothy Moore, Cluteen Ervin and Ella McCullough; brothers, Frank Earl Simmons and Hubert Jackson, Jr.; two infant children; and eight grandchildren.

Those left behind to cherish sweet memories are: daughters, Joyce Jackson, of Huntsville, and Lois Boyd (Milton), of Trinity; sons, Lester Jackson (Barbara) and Willie Jackson, of Lockhart; sister, Theresa Colter (P.A.), of Crockett; brothers, Claude Riley (Easter) and Albert Reese, Jr. (Debbie), of Crockett; special goddaughters Evelyn Hackett, of Houston, and Shy’Ann Owens; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Services were held at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in Crockett, Texas, on Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, with interment following at the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Crockett.
