Lonnie Alvin Harris Jr., 69 of Dale, Texas, passed away March 19, 2014. He was born in Austin, Texas, to Lonnie Alvin Harris, Sr. and Ruth Elizabeth (Cox) Harris Oct. 14, 1944.

He is survived by, his wife, Susan Wolf Harris; daughter, Laura Harris Townsend and son-in-law, Greg Townsend; daughter, Jennifer Harris Jaggers and son-in-law, Todd Jaggers; grandchildren: Cory Chris

topher, Chelsea Elizabeth Rene, Chloe Grace, and Brighten Hope Townsend, Joshua Harris and Amanda Elizabeth Jaggers.

He was honorably discharged after serving eight years in the Army National Guard, worked as a diesel mechanic, owned a trucking company, a car dealership, and later found that he enjoyed real estate and managing rental properties. Lonnie was kindhearted, compassionate towards others, and loved Jesus Christ. He was unashamed to share his faith with any tenant or car buyer.

Lonnie is more alive than ever in the presence of Jesus Christ. We look forward to the day that we will be reunited with him.

Services to celebrate his life were held on Tuesday, March 25 at 11 a.m.; visitation began at 10 a.m. at the Lockhart Church of Christ, 317 Blanco St. Lockhart, Texas, with Bob Hailey officiating. Pallbearers were Greg and Cory Townsend, Todd and Joshua Jaggers, Trevor Powell, and George Craner; honorary pallbearers were Jerry Head, Harrison Koepnick, and Bryan Daniel.     Daddy- I love you and miss you like crazy. But I am so overjoyed in knowing that you are with Jesus! I look forward to soaking in His presence with you one day. Until then I want to grow and learn and share with others the gift of amazing grace and abundant life that you now fully know. I am proud to be your daughter!
