Louis Wenton “Ted” Green, 91, of Lockhart, died Jan. 2. He was born on September 7th 1913 in Weleelke, Okfuskee Co., Oklahoma to David Claud and Florence Irene Boggs Green. He was married on March 19, 1936 in Carnegie, Caddo County, Okla., to Myrtle Catherine Rodden Green whom he had 60 wonderful years before her death in 1996.
He is survived by his only child, Louis

Claudine Green Watkins and his son-in-law, Gerald Dean (Jerry) Watkins, both of Lockhart; his grandchildren: Gerald Edward Watkins and wife Jennifer of Austin; Tracy Elizabeth Lippolis of Restertown, Md., and Amy Cathleen Watkins of San Marcos; four great-grandchildren, Harlee Lynn Aker, David Michael Aker, MarthaRuth Rebekah Watkins and Abigail Watkins; two sisters, Symblene Barr of Byars, Okla., Harriet (Hattie) Penner of Yukon, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle; his parents, David Claud and Florence Irene Boggs Green; one grandson, Davis Louis Watkins; brothers, Clarence Willard, David Campbell, and Weldon Vance Green; and sisters, Erma Agnes Green Ramsey Wade and Jewell Green Cooper Marrow Phillips.
Mr. Green was a member of Onion Creek Masonic Lodge #220 and he was Past Grand of the Independent Order of the Odd Fellows, Capital Lodge #23, as well as a member of OES, Creedmoor, Chapter #607.
He enlisted in the Navy in 1943, and served in WWII in the Pacific Campaign. He belonged to VFW post #8925. He was at the Battle of Iwo Jima.
Graveside services were held at the Lockhart City Cemetery in Lockhart, Texas on Jan. 4 at 2 p.m.
